Experience
Doctoral Researcher at ADAPT Centre
May 2024 — Present
My research focuses on crafting advanced methods to detect and analyze emerging disinformation campaigns, assessing the vulnerability and susceptibility of European countries and Western democracies to such disinformation, and identifying the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) employed by foreign state and non-state actors. The aim is to develop strategic approaches for state institutions to effectively neutralize FIMI-related disinformation threats.
Crime & Data Analyst at An Garda SÃochána
Nov 2023 — July 2024
Served as a Crime & Data Analyst in Ireland's National Police Force. I applied data science to crime data, and used policing tools to investigate and analyse crime. I was involved in the development and implementation of reports and tools that enhance policing investigations and crime analysis. My role entailed the collation and examination of crime data, identifying anomalies, and establishing links vital for supporting criminal investigations. I also contributed to the automation of analytical reports and the refinement of analytical techniques.
Machine Learning Research Engineer (Studentship) at Technological University Dublin
Jan 2023 — Sep 2023
Engaged in several advanced machine learning and deep learning projects during postgraduate education. My contributions involved developing a diverse array of AI systems, including image recognition, language detection, and a novel system for identifying individuals across the dark and clear web. Additionally, I co-authored research papers on XAI (glassbox vs blackbox predictive models) and NLP (language detection in hate speech/radicalisation), which were subsequently published.
OSINT Analyst ~ Freelance
December 2021 — Sep 2022
Conducted over 25+ OSINT investigations for private clients as a freelancer. Specializing in OSINT, GEOINT, CYBINT, and DARKINT, my work involved tradecraft in network analysis, geospatial mapping, communications analysis (SOCMINT), entity identification and dark web analysis. I utilized dossier classification using the standard intelligence model (5x5x5) and adhered to the use of a threat intelligence lifecyle, always ensuring data integrity and security. My proficiency in crafting tailored tools and methods for OSINT has given me a reputation for delivering precise, actionable insights and has been motivation to become an expert in the domain.
